Lourdes de la Colina

Ray Technician

When did your vocation for the world of dentistry come about?

My position is that of a radiodiagnostic technician, so I came to dentistry by chance. They were looking for someone to acquire the scans and use them to make a virtual model for Dr. Sicilia's subsequent study.

What do you like most about the work you do at Clínica Sicilia?

Dealing with patients.

What do you like most about the relationship with patients?

It is common for people to go to the dentist with fear. Treating them with care, respect and explaining what is going to be done makes them relax and completely change their concept of "going to the dentist".
It's great when you see how they come in and how they change as their treatment progresses.

What is the most common question you are asked by patients?

It is not so much a question as a statement: "It used to be that for less than nothing you could have a tooth removed".

A series, a film, a book and a song:

TV Show: El ala oeste de la Casa Blanca
Book: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
Film: I wouldn't be able to pick a favourite.
Song: it would be some classic jazz

What special memory do you have of your childhood?

Playing in the street.

If you could get a special quality or ability overnight, what would it be?

What would your perfect day look like?

Spending time with my family and, if there is time, cooking a big dinner for my friends.

Beatles or Rolling Stones

Rolling Stones.

Goya or Dalí

Both are great geniuses, but the obscure and surrealist periods are not among my favourites.

Winter or summer

Is there a choice to be made? Summer I guess.

Playing sport or watching it

Practising, although I've been finding it hard to find the time lately.
