María Vázquez

Microsurgery Assistant

When did your vocation for the world of dentistry come about?

I actually wanted to be a driving instructor, but I had to wait until I had my driving licence for two years before I could apply. I decided to do a higher education module while I was waiting for that time, and a good friend recommended me to study oral hygiene, I didn't even know it existed! I did my internship at the clinic and I'm still here 13 years later. I think that my friend's good recommendation changed my life...

What do you like most about the work you do at Clínica Sicilia?

I really enjoy being in the operating theatre, helping Dr. Sicilia and seeing how the patients, who sometimes come in scared to death, leave delighted after the whole process.

What do you like most about the relationship with patients?

It is very nice to see how the nerves and fear at the end of the process have turned into compliments and thanks.
